A new year means exciting new ways of trying things. It can mean new routines, new relationships, new adventures and new ways of thinking about the same things we did all the time in 2011, 2010, 2009….and etc. We are very excited for 2012 at Murrysville Community Church and we are eager to strengthen our relationships with every family throughout the year and hopefully introduce new families to our number for the sake of the Glory of God. I want to discuss a few housekeeping items with you very briefly so that 2012 is a little more organized than previous years.
We are asking that families send us the “Consent to Treat” form once at the beginning of the year so that we can hold onto them so that we do not burden folks with hours of unnecessary paperwork all year long. Clicking on the link above should pull up the form but if you have any problems, I can supply you with a printed copy, email it to you directly, or place it on the website. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
The Website-
I am currently revising much of the content on the website and I would love to hear your input. What are some ways you would prefer the website to be utilized? Our primary goals are event promotion, ministry promotion, and consistent communication from the youth ministry to the home so that there can be more integration of what is being taught at Surge with what is being discussed at home. We will also do our best to make it a place where documents and other general information can always be accessed. Please respond with your ideas and suggestions. I would love to hear them.
Youth Membership class-
The Youth Membership class is geared for any of our students who are either ready to join the church or are eager to hear more about what it means to be a part of the Church. The youth class will be split into 3 classes and those classes will meet on January 21st, February 18th, and the final class is March 3rd. These classes will meet at MCC and will meet from 9:00am to approximately noon. If students are pursuing membership then they are required to be at all 3 classes. Attendance and completion are a requirement for membership but the student will also have to be interviewed by session just like any adult. If your student is even curious at all, I highly urge you to bring them to the class so that they can begin to think about God’s call in their life. Dear Lord, I pray for each of these families as they seek your face and remain faithful in raising their children in your ways, according to your word. Please fill them with your Holy Spirit and encourage them to always put you first in the home. Please guide this ministry and shape us according to your will so that we may glorify you by witnessing your love and forgiveness to all youth through the power of your Gospel. Amen.
